On September 19, ÑÇÉ«ÊÓƵ held its Autumn 2025 Commencement Ceremony at the Satake Memorial Hall on the Higashi-Hiroshima Campus.

On this day, degrees were awarded to a total of 381 students: 30 undergraduate students and 351 graduate students, including 286 international students. Three student representatives received their diplomas from President Mitsuo Ochi; after the ceremony, doctoral degree recipients were personally handed their diplomas by the president.

In his address, President Ochi expressed deep respect for the students¡¯ achievements and their dedication. ¡°It is our immutable mission to continue exploring the path toward peace, never forgetting the unfulfilled aspirations of those who fell victim to the atomic bombing," he emphasized.

As part of these efforts, he introduced the university¡¯s peace education and exchange programs, such as the ¡°University Presidents for Peace Conference,¡± held on August 6, and the ¡°Peace Study Tour,¡± which invites university students from around the world to Hiroshima.

President Ochi then offered words of encouragement to the graduates. ¡°I encourage you to make full use of the broad education and deep expertise you have cultivated here, and to thrive in your home countries and regions as ¡®peace-pursuing, cultured individuals with an international mindset and a challenging spirit,¡¯¡± he said.

Following the president¡¯s address, Shinnosuke Matsumi, from the Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering, delivered a farewell speech on behalf of the current student body. In response, Tomonori Matsushita, also from the Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering, offered words of gratitude on behalf of the graduates.
