1.开催概要(Overview

広岛大学法学部は、2024年に STETSON国際環境法模擬裁判大会 东アジア地域ラウンド2024 East Asian Regional RoundsEARRof the Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition 2024–2025)を主催しました。

STETSON国际环境法模拟裁判大会(IEMCC)は、1996年に创设された、国际环境法分野において世界的に高い评価を受ける学生模拟裁判大会です。大会はすべて英语で実施され、参加学生は、国际司法裁判所(ICJ)を模した法廷を舞台に、国际环境法に関する架空の纷争事件について、书面(メモリアル)および口头弁论を通じて法的主张を展开します。

IEMCCは、世界各地域で开催される地域ラウンドと、选抜チームのみが进出できる国际ラウンドから构成されており、EARRはその东アジア地域ラウンドにあたります。

2024年度のEARRには、ウクライナ、中国、日本、韩国の4か国から、法学部またはロースクールに所属する学生62名(计13チーム)が参加しました。

3.大会结果?成果(Results

大会は、英语による书面审査および対面での口头弁论により、厳正な审査のもとトーナメント形式で実施されました。
最终的に、韩国?Handong International Law Schoolおよびウクライナ?Ukrainian Catholic University Law Schoolのチームが决胜に进出しました。

また、本学から出场した2チームも健闘し、本学法学部2年次生の刘畅さんが Second Oralist Award を受赏するなど、优れた成果を挙げました。

 

 

4.国际环境法シンポジウム(ICEL

大会期间中には、国际环境法をテーマとする国际环境法シンポジウム
The International Conference on Environmental LawICEL も併催されました。本シンポジウムには、各国の研究者、実务家、学生が参加し、国际环境法の最新动向や课题について活発な学术交流が行われました。

 

 

5.开催の意义(Significance

世界的に権威ある国际模拟裁判大会の东アジア地域ラウンドを本学で开催したことは、本学法学部における国际的な法学教育?研究活动の実践的成果であるとともに、学生が国际的视野と高度な専门性を备えたグローバル法学人材として成长するための重要な教育机会となりました。広岛大学法学部は、今後も国際的な教育?研究交流を積極的に推進していきます。

Greetings from Hiroshima! 

亚色视频 invites you and your friends to the East Asia Regional Rounds (EARR) for the International Environmental Law Moot Court Competition (IEMCC), which will be held for the first time in Hiroshima, Japan, from December 18th to 21st, 2024.

The contest winners in Hiroshima will advance to the International Finals of Stetson University near Tampa, Florida, U.S!

亚色视频 will host the event to enable more East Asian students and other countries to enjoy legal minds through international law moots. 

Furthermore, we are preparing valuable programs, including an international symposium with experts researching internationally critical environmental issues. You can also plan a trip around Hiroshima, like Miyajima Island, including Itsukushima Shrine, one of the UNESCO World Heritage. 

We hope to see many schools register for this years event!

?Rules for EARR

1. The East Asian Regional Rounds of Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition Rules 2024-2025 (EARR Rules) prevail over other rules at this IEMCC(2024-2025). 

2. Each team consists of 2 to 5 persons, and all team members must be college students, graduate students, or law school students.

3. In a preliminary round, all participating teams should not watch other teams competitions.

4. From the semi-finals, parties, whether the applicant or the respondent, will be decided by flipping a coin in the courtroom.

5. Each party will have three seats in the courtroom. Oralists must consist of two people, and one writer may take the other seat.

6. If a team fails to attend in the designated courtroom on time, the team may be eliminated.

7. If two teams from the same school participate in the competition, each team must submit a different memorial for either an applicant or a respondent through consultation. 

8. Every team must submit the memorial and affidavit by November 15 at 5 PM(US EST) to Katherine Pratt(kpratt2@law.stetson.edu) and EARR Executive Committee(earr2024@hiroshima-u.ac.jp).

** After the final round, international conference, and EARR awards ceremony conclude at 6:00 PM on December 21 at the Hiroshima International Conference Center, a free bus will be provided to transport all participants to the Higashi-Senda Campus. Please follow the guidance of the staff on the day.

 

<Note for the Competition & Prepared Events>

1. All preliminary rounds consist of two matches per team (one as Applicant and one as Respondent).

2. The top four teams, based on the preliminary round results, will advance to the semifinals. The announcement of the semifinalists will be made around 1:00 PM on Friday, December 20. All teams are advised to remain near the Higashi-Senda Campus while waiting for the announcement.

3. The semifinals will be held on Friday, December 20, starting at 3:00 PM at the Higashi-Senda Campus. For detailed information, such as locations, please refer to the EARR Guidebook, which will be distributed on December 18.

4. After the team matchups are revealed during the reception on December 18, updated information will continuously be posted on this website. 

5. To observe the final round on Saturday, December 21, all teams must either arrive directly at Dahlia Hall 1 at the Hiroshima International Conference Center by 9:50 AM (if their accommodations are near the venue) or gather at the Higashi-Senda Campus by 9:00 AM to take the provided bus. Please check with the supporting HU staff for your team for further details.

6. Following the final round on Saturday, December 21, the international conference will be held with the theme “Global Decarbonization Policies and Responses from Japan, Korea, and China.” Lunch will be provided for all participants before the conference, and the EARR Awards Ceremony will be started immediately after the conference. Please ensure you remain at your designated places at the Hiroshima International Conference Center on the day.

7. After all events at the Hiroshima International Conference Center conclude on Saturday, December 21, free shuttle buses will transport all participants to the Higashi-Senda Campus. A closing ceremony and farewell party (including dinner) will be held exclusively for EARR participants at the Higashi-Senda Campus. Please ensure your attendance for all scheduled events.
