On October 10, 2025, a delegation led by Professor Pongruk Sribanditmongkol, President of Chiang Mai University (CMU), Thailand, visited the Higashi-Hiroshima Campus of ÑÇÉ«ÊÓƵ (HU) and held a discussion with HU President Mitsuo Ochi. Executive Vice President (Global Initiatives) Shinji Kaneko also attended the meeting. During the meeting, discussions were held on strengthening collaboration between the two universities, including student and faculty exchanges in fields such as health sciences and environmental sciences, joint research, and academic programs. Prior to the courtesy visit, a signing ceremony for an inter-university international exchange agreement was held.

The faculties of pharmacy at both universities signed an inter-faculty international exchange agreement in June 2008. Since then, we have deepened our relationship through student exchanges and other activities.

HU has concluded 9 inter-university international exchange agreements with 6 institutions and 26 inter-faculty international exchange agreements with 19 institutions in Thailand. Currently, 24 Thai students are studying at HU. With this visit and the signing of the university-level exchange agreement, HU will promote exchange with CMU as well as other universities and research institutions in Thailand.
