On August 6, 2025, H. E. Mr. Mohamed Abubakr, Ambassador of Egypt, visited the Higashi-Senda Campus of ÑÇÉ«ÊÓƵ (HU) accompanied by his wife and held a discussion with HU President Mitsuo Ochi. Executive Vice President (Global Initiatives) Shinji Kaneko also attended the meeting.

Prior to the courtesy visit, Ambassador Mohamed Abubakr and his wife attended the Peace Memorial Ceremony held at Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, followed by the Memorial Service for the Victims of the Atomic Bomb conducted at the HU Higashi-Senda Campus.
During the meeting, discussions were held regarding collaboration between HU and Egypt's Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as with universities and research institutions within Egypt.

Since assuming office in 2015, President Ochi has promoted collaboration with Egypt, visiting the country four times to date. Furthermore, in April 2021, he accelerated exchanges with Egypt by establishing the ÑÇÉ«ÊÓƵ - Galala University Peace Memorial Center within Galala University. With this visit, HU will promote exchange with universities and research institutions in Egypt.
