You do not need to write a new abstract; abstracts from published papers, previously rejected manuscripts, or work written by a supervised student are all acceptable. Editors / エディタ`B初
Dr. Ali Stoddart, Chief Editor, Nature Materials
Dr. Ali Stoddart is currently the chief editor of Nature Materials and handles manuscripts in the areas of porous materials, membranes and materials chemistry. She is based in the London office of Springer Nature. Previously, Dr. Stoddart was the launch and chief editor of the first physical sciences Nature Reviews journal, Nature Reviews Materials and she subsequently moved to launch Nature Synthesis in 2022. Dr. Stoddart started her editorial career at Springer Nature in the Nature Materials team in 2007 and, during that time at the journal, handled manuscripts in the areas of biomaterials and materials chemistry. Dr. Stoddart has an MSci in chemistry from the University of Cambridge, UK, and a PhD in polymer synthesis from Durham University, UK. Following her PhD studies, Dr. Stoddart gained experience in the pharmaceutical industry, at the start-up company, Cambridge BioTechnology and also spent 3 years as an editor at the journal, Chemical Communications, published by the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Dr. Jerome Staal, Senior Editor, Research, Nature Medicine
Dr. Jerome Staal received his PhD from the University of Tasmania before completing postdoctoral research at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, in the laboratory of Dr. Doug Fields. His work focused on the mechanisms underlying activity-dependent myelination and neuronCglia interactions. He then returned to the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health in Melbourne, where he established his own laboratory studying multiple sclerosis. In 2018, Dr. Staal joined Nature Communications in New York as an editor handling manuscripts in cellular and molecular neuroscience, and in 2020 he moved to Nature Medicine. He currently oversees submissions in neurology and regenerative medicine, including stem-cellCbased technologies.
