appeared in the NHK WORLD-JAPAN program “.”&苍产蝉辫;

The program examines the risks posed to Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, by sea-level rise and abnormal increases in sea level associated with global ocean warming.

Professor Lee explains the physical mechanism through which an internal seiche in Hiroshima Bay, triggered by a distant typhoon under strongly stratified ocean conditions, can cause an abnormal rise in sea level. The program also introduces his ongoing research to develop a system for predicting abnormal sea-level events in Hiroshima Bay.

The episode is available on demand on the official NHK WORLD-JAPAN website until July 28, 2027.
