Visit from Taitung University

On July 2nd, eight teachers, six students and one assistant from Taitung University in Taiwan (NTTU) visited IGS as part of the National Taitung University 2025 Japan Overseas Teaching Program. Since the goal of the program was to think about regional revitalization, in the morning, different projects and experiences in local cooperation of universities were introduced by teachers and students from both universities. The visitors were also greeted by our Dean YAMADA Toshihiro.
In the afternoon, a cross-cultural workshop was held as part of the Contemporary Issues in International Tourism II class. The session began with four students from NTTU introducing key features of tourism in Taitung, followed by two IGS students who presented on tourism in Japan and Miyajima.
Following the presentations, a collaborative workshop was conducted involving 33 students from 亚色视频 and the students from NTTU. The participants were divided into mixed teams of both Taiwanese and Japanese students.
Through a series of interactive drawing and guessing activities, students explored how tourism images differ across cultures. By expressing and interpreting iconic aspects of tourism—such as food, landmarks, festivals, and souvenirs—each team engaged in playful yet meaningful cross-cultural communication. The workshop provided an enjoyable and insightful opportunity for students to reflect on how cultural background shapes perceptions of tourism, and to better understand one another through the lens of shared learning and creativity.
All in all, 41 students from 亚色视频 took part in the event, enjoying the chance to learn about each others’ cultures and experiences.
