Research Topic
My research explores how societies remember and contest their wartime past, drawing on interdisciplinary approaches across heritage studies, memory studies, and media studies with a regional focus on the Philippines and Southeast Asia. I examine the ways states and communities deploy commemorative practices to shape national narratives, and I am particularly interested in how digital media platforms have become spaces where traces of conflict circulate, gain new audiences, and acquire fresh political meaning. This work connects questions of war memory and heritage politics to broader concerns about peacebuilding and communication in the digital age.

Message
Hiroshima is a remarkable place to think critically about how the past shapes the present. If you are drawn to questions about why certain histories are remembered while others are silenced, or how digital media can serve as a tool for peacebuilding and historical reckoning, I would be glad to work with you.
